Department access and safety courses
To gain access to the Department, you are required to complete the online safety training courses, which are mandatory for all PhD students.
General training, 4 hours:

Low-risk activites, 4 hours:
https://elearning.unipd.it/formazione/course/index.php?categoryid=40
Only for PhD students involved in laboratory activities:
High risk activites, 12 hours
https://elearning.unipd.it/formazione/course/index.php?categoryid=40
PhD students who enter the optics laboratories will definitely need to do this (High Risk). For those going to Asiago, if they stay in the control room, the low-risk level is sufficient. However, if they need to enter the dome or the optics laboratory, then the high-risk level will be required.
Please note that:
- only safety courses provided by the University of Padua will be accepted or recognised;
- the course "general training" is always valid;
- the course "specific training" is valid for 5 years; if you have already attended it during your Bachelor's or Master's degree in Padua, you can upload the current certificate and you will have to attend some refresher courses when it will expire.
As soon as you complete the required courses, fill in the access form, sign it, and submit it to Laura Zanovello (Secretariat Office, Room 132, Department of Physics and Astronomy, Via F. Marzolo 8), together with the receipts/certificates of the safety training courses. The form is also available in English.
Reference person: your proposed supervisor.
Activity start date: 01/11/2025
Activity end date: 31/10/2028
After submission, you will receive your personal badge, which grants access to the Department buildings.
