Admission
The PhD Programme in Astronomy is organized by the Department of Physics and Astronomy “Galileo Galilei” (DFA) at the University of Padua, continuing the excellence of the astronomical tradition initiated by Galileo Galilei in the 17th century.
The programme offers doctoral research projects across most areas of modern astrophysics, in collaboration with the INAF–Astronomical Observatory of Padua. The faculty and research staff include more than 60 astronomers.
Admission to the programme occurs annually. The call for applications is usually published in April/May, with the deadline for submissions around mid-year. The programme officially begins on 1 November
