Erio Ziglio

Dr. Erio Ziglio is currently Guest Lecturer at the MCI, Management Centre Innsbruck, Austria. !In his international career, Dr Ziglio has been in senior positions with the World Health Organization, European Office since the early 1990s. At the WHO he was responsible for the Health Promotion Programme and in 2003he was appointed as Head of the WHO’s European Office for Investment for Health and Development, position that he held till his retirement on 1October 2014. In addition to his over 20 years of work with the World Health Organization, he has 15 years of teaching and research experience in the academic world both in Europe and North America. He also worked for the European Commission for three years as a public health consultant in the late1980s. Dr Ziglio has lectured internationally and published widely on the subjects of health promotion, futures research, health policy, planning, and healthand development. He held an Honorary Professorship at the University of York, and was an Honorary Research Fellow at the University of Edinburgh, where he received his PhD in 1985. For several years he was a member of the International Teaching Staff at Yale University, School of Public Health. He was Visiting Professor at the University of Toronto (1983) and Carleton/Ottawa (1986). Since 2013, Dr. Ziglio has also been a Professorial Fellow to the Royal Society for Public Health, London, UK. Dr Ziglio speaks and lectures in English, Italian, Spanish and French..
